Bracing and/or cabling is a process that is meant to support weak or damaged limbs by installing cables

between two or more branches. Often times, structurally unsound or storm damaged limbs can be fortified and

supported instead of resorting to excessive pruning or complete tree removal. This process allows the tree to

grow normally. Bracing and cabling does require ongoing attention; all hardware used to bolster and support the

tree should be inspected at least once a year to check for defects and to make any adjustments for the trees

growth.
